Welcome to my first post! I thought it would be fitting to share my skincare routine, it has taken me years to perfect this routine as I have hormonal acne prone skin, and its hard to find products to treat that as well as also taking care of the parts of my skin that aren’t as acne prone. I do this routine, no matter how late it is at night, or how tired I am because I know if I don’t do this routine I will break out for the next three days and nobody has time for that. I have listed the products in the above picture in the order that I use them, and they are grouped together as I use them in those particular stages. I would say the cost of most of these products are in the medium range of pricing but I 100% believe they are worth every cent of my money because of how well they work.
Product 1: REN Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Balm $24.99 AUD
I have always been weary of cleansing balms as I never really thought they did much, however, after trying the REN Cleansing balm out I can say I am a true convert. I mainly use this to remove my makeup – and boy! does it remove makeup! I wear some pretty heavy duty mascara, eyeliner and liquid lipstick and there is not a scrap of it left on my face after using this! I usually squeeze a little bit onto some damp hands and just massage it into my face for a couple of minutes, once that’s done I grab a warm damp towel and remove all the day that has been left on my face!
Product 2: La Roche-Posay Effaclar $17.99 AUD
For the price point of this bad boy, you cannot go wrong. This has been the best acne cleanser I have ever found, it has no nasty chemicals that usually irritate the skin. It removes impurities and excess sebum (oil) without being drying but your skin definitely feels super clean once you’ve used it. I use this morning and night, and my skin is so much less oily throughout the day.
Product 3: Alpha H Liquid Gold $50.96 AUD
I CAN NOT TELL YOU ENOUGH HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!!! When it says liquid gold, it actually is!!! Whilst the product states that it revitalises and firms the skin, it does sooooo much more than just that! I put a lot of the control of my acne success to this product and the next one (but we will get to that soon enough). As soon as I started using this product my skin became so much clearer and I was getting a lot less breakouts than I used to get. YES it is a higher price point, but I have no problems spending money if the product truly does what it says it will and this one does more than that. This to me is a CULT beauty item and for very good reason!
Product 4: Ultraceuticals – Ultra Clear Treatment Lotion $89.00 AUD
OK, So we need to address that yes this product is expensive but it is also amazing, no other advertised acne treatment lotion has cleared up my skin like this has. My ONLY annoyance with this product is that it stinks, I cant even explain to you what it smells like because its nothing that I have ever smelled in a product before and I cant put my finger on it, but, I will put up with whatever smell comes inside a product if it helps my acne.

Now for the serums, I usually wait 10 minutes between putting the ultraceuticals treatment lotion on before I add my serums, however once that is done I create a bit of a serum cocktail and squirt one pump of each of these products into my hand and massage into my skin. Yes two of these products are on the high range of price, but they work. I use the Clinique repair serum to help heal acne that is clearing up and also work on the current red scars that I’ve got from previous breakouts. The Manuka Doctor I use for anti-aging and the B17 I use also for anti-aging, plumping and also hydrates my skin. The B17 product also assists in the reduction of transepidermal water loss, which basically means it hydrates and heaps your skin hydrated. I am reaching an age now (27) where I feel its important to look at anti-aging and also preventative measures of aging on my skin, and I think it is so important to look after your skin especially on your face as that is the first people look at when they meet you.
All the products in this routine, I have been using for over a year. They all serve a particular purpose in my routine, there is nothing worse than seeing someone using a million products just for the sake of it and not seeing results. I only spend my money on products that I KNOW 100 % work, otherwise it’s just a waste of money, again don’t forget that all these products come in testers when you go to the store and MECCA Cosmetica also provide samples from their ranges for you to try before you buy.
