I will say that since being single the term “treat yourself” has either made me broke or fat and this time both.
I saddled my car up after work and was preparing myself for the fact I was about to spend a lot of money on a new pair of shoes as well as parking.
The CBD in Sydney is no joking matter… especially when you’re driving, the whole no left hand turns, one way roads really messes you up as they seem to be forever changing and my GPS just cannot keep up.
But alas, I made my journey and found parking so far from my destination I might as well count the walking up a huge hill and wrong turns a training session. The Queen Victoria building is probably one of my favourite buildings in the city, apart from not visiting it often which was made obvious when I ended up in a train station below it (which I didn’t know actually existed). I toured around, played the grand piano (and gained quite and audience and applause when I finished if I do say so myself) whilst I waited for my dad and step mother to join, once they arrived we made our way to Louis Vuitton. I have to add my dad is somewhat frugal so this experience for him I think was a bit out of his depth.
The Star Trail boots, which I had called ahead to make sure were in stock in my size was the reason I tested my anxiety for the over populated Sydney CBD. The Louis Vuitton store in the city can be a bit hit and miss as far as the service, however, on this night it was great. I browsed around whilst waiting for my size and then my father being ever the logical made me catwalk up and down the top floor of the store to make sure they were “comfortable”, which they were so I ended up fulfilling my purchase. I cannot explain to you in words how amazing these boots actually are, they are a statement piece that I will hopefully have for a very long time and get a lot of use out of. I have already worn these boots three times, and each time someone has stopped me to compliment me on them or just to talk about them! If that isn’t statement enough then I don’t know what is!
If you have been to the city and haven’t visited Bistro Guillaume then you are definitely missing out one of the best French restaurants in Sydney, especially their cheese soufflé (drool). If I could afford to eat here every. single. night I would firstly be extremely happy and content and secondly extremely over weight! ha!
All in all it was an amazing night, I manage to acquire the boots I had been longing for and also definitely had way to much cheese soufflé which was definitely worth it, plus I worked it off trying to find my car & I got to spend all that time with my Dad and Step-mum and any family time I can get with them I cherish.
